I'm writing this blog from home today as I am sick with the flu. I texted my boss early this morning telling them of the situation and hoping that I could be in later today...but being the awesome people they are...they told me to get better and see you tomorrow. :) (Complete with smiley face.)

This Wednesday is Administrative Professional's Day. This is a day when you let your assistants know what a great help they are to you and that without them you would not shine. "How do you do this?", you may ask yourself. Well, as your local florist, I am here to help.

I was imediately angered! Honestly angry and sad. Sad that as they're playing their overhead chime, I'm realizing what an impact it has on the little guys. The local independently owned florists (like the one I work for). How dare they!? This is my neighborhood! I AM The Local Florist! We too can deliver around the corner and around the world!! The money that you spend with the "little guy" pays for so much more.

It pays for a family being able to support themselves in a business, a small business, like this country was built on! It pays for some of the freshest flowers you've ever seen! I read all I could about this Holiday and I'm sure many of us have very fond memories of family and friends coming together during this time of year.
